Mount Fuji, Chubu region

Mount Fuji is a hallmark to Japan.  Measuring 12,388 feet tall,  it stands as the highest mountain in all of Japan.

In actuality, the mountain itself is a volcano and is surrounded by three cities and 5 lakes.  Native Japanese hikers, along with tourists, enjoy a long trek up the winding roads to the top.

On a clear day, it can be seen from as far away as Chiba, Japan - Houston's Sister City.
